About Me
My name is Erin Cooley, and call it the gift of the Blarney or just Cooley genetics but I love to tell and hear stories. I enjoy discovering those "did you know" items and sharing them with friends. For many years I listened to my grandmother tell stories about the Great Depression. I have heard stories about war, love, food, far off places, and places right next door. A story can inspire people to clean a stream, build a museum, or preserve a family treasure. Stories bring us together, and I love that about stories.
As President and CEO of America's Stories Inc., the founders of StoryTrax.com, welcome to your new online community. A place where people can read, share and discover exciting new stories about their own home. I hope the stories you read here encourage you to interact with other individuals, businesses and organizations either online or in your own community.
We all leave our track on the landscape, preserve your story track and the stories of loved ones by writing them in your Story Blog. We hope you enjoy the site, please Blog and comment often, this is your community.
As for my story . . . . well, you will just have to read that in my Story Blog.

Stories That Inspire
I thought it might be fun to connect you to some of the stories that inspired me. Some of them are humorous, and some are serious, some talk about people while others bring out the stories of place. Either way they are stories worth reading. I encourage you to take a few moments and click on some of the stories linked below. Most recently Pam wrote a story about her experience with new American Citizens. Pam shares her own feelings about being an American Citizen. I like this story. For me Pam's story stirred in me my own recollections about what it means to be a citizen of this great country. The Day I Became a United States CitizenRed Rose Tea wrote a good little recollection about spending time at the beach. It paused me to remember the time two of my good friends and I went to Moorehead City to go scuba diving and eat seafood. Reading OBX let me remember that time and inspired me to start planning my next dive trip with my best friends. When I lived in Yosemite, my brother and I played cowboys. We would try and rope garbage cans. A friend of my parents had given Justin and me a rope to lasso those metal bad guys. We never got the hang of it but Anne's story about Kids' Summer Games inspired the memory. So who do you believe? Cory’s memory of a Bat in his bedroom inspired this comedic retelling of There are Bats in My Bellbottoms. How Cory Saved the Day. This story told by Cory shows how a single event in history can have multiple points of view. Nothing serious about this story but it may spark a fun memory about you and a close friend’s brush with nature. What happens when kids find a secret tunnel in the basement of an old museum? Well read Lou’s story about The Tunnel in the Basement. I love archaeology. The exploration, the uncovering a new story, and the joy of discovery, Lou’s story really got me thinking about asking Paula to tag along on one of her “shovel test” trips.Ok, so it is one of my stories but America Misunderstood has some great comments from fellow site visitors and that is the reason for why I wanted to include it here in this list of inspiring stories. Anne, Jess and several others engage in some interesting discussions for which I think could be another Story. Perhaps a story on tolerance is next. -
