About Us

Hi: My name is George Thompson and I am current president of the Alto Model Train Museum.

We are a group of local collectors who have a vision to start a model train museum in Altoona.

We love to share our interest in trains and to promote the hobby to our younger citizens thru our Thomas, Brio, Geo-Trax and other displays. We also sponser a Kids Club for 10 and up to teach them model railroad skills. There is no charge for our open houses but our patrons have been generous with donations and we keep the bills paid.
