Would You Like to Dance with Us?

After we distributed the western wear to the Hakuna Matatas a couple of weeks ago, several of the dancers asked if they could dress up each week. I smiled and thought about that comment for awhile. So, last night I made sure each dancer got to pick out 2 more costumes to add to their wardrobe. I figured ‘what could it hurt?’ We will hopefully have more places contacting us to perform demos.

We have had so many generous callers and dancers who have donated tons of outfits, that we still have enough for autumn when we start the new square dance sessions. Also, a couple of our regulars asked if they could learn the more difficult material. I thought that was great, and Tom Miller and I are working out a plan to have 2 sessions. One half hour of Advanced Handicapable dancing and one full hour of Basics for the newer dancers.

If any of the STORYTRAX readers would like to partake in a fun activity, and help these wonderful souls out, let me know and I’ll send you info for our new sessions coming this fall. Even if you haven’t any previous square dancing experience, we’d love to see some new smiling faces.

As you will see from these next two video clips, there is nothing really difficult that we do. It’s just walking. The steps are fairly simple and I will teach and tell you how to do it. It’s an easy exercise and quite rewarding. I am very proud to say that we’ve had angel dancers (helpers) who have been assisting every week for nearly 2 years. They help out for free, never asking for anything in return. They just love dancing with the gang.  We call them angels, because I feel strongly that they will have a smooth and straight shot right to heaven ( I hope St. Peter can call square dances ) Don't forget to view the first 2 blogs about getting the western wear and dancing in our new outfits http://storytrax.com/node/897
