The One That Didn't Get Away!
Believe me Richard is not Poor! He has a wealth of information and tackle. Every angler who fishes Erie stops to buy tackle or bait or both. Now his daffodils are poor and sorry looking because of the snow on April 5.

Today was a great day for fishing and lousy for driving. I-79 southbound from Erie was closed for most of the day. White out – heavy snow – crash – and it is only going to get more interesting tomorrow.

I caught several fish. I found a leak in my left boot – making it a perfect match for the right one that got soggy last trip. Oh yeah - my left Gortex sock leaks too! For those of you who hate those plastic bags blowing in the wind and hanging in the trees, they make a good quick fix for leaky waders. Small leak only! More like a seep than a leak. You get the idea.

This is what lake effect snow looks like as it comes roaring off the lake.
Back to fishing – this guy is from McKeesport – anglers don’t exchange names just towns or states or general locations within states. On rare occasions – first names.

McKeesport
I got a video of McKeesport landing a nice fresh “jack steelhead.”
Iowa Mike
I also got a video of Iowa Mike landing a nice fish as well. He and his dad drove 8-hours to Erie to fish in a snow storm. They usually stay a week and fish each day. My kind of people!

Lake effect snow is beautiful. As long as you are not driving or trying to drive in it! The fish don't mind and the angler don't either!

Good lookin' fish
Looks like the drive through the snowstorm was worth it! The photos are impressive. I'm heading up to St. Marys, PA this weekend -- we had a green Christmas, but we're expecting a white Easter. Should make the egg hunt easy for the kids -- they can just follow our tracks in the snow to the hiding places!
Have a happy and safe Easter.
Catch and Release
