Yesterday our lil' haven in central PA was pounded yet again with a blanket (down comforter???) of powdery snow.  When I get a free day home with my kidlets like that, I try to make the most of it!!

So when I went out to shovel, I bundled the buggers like little eskimo babies and off they went as a neighbor pulled them in a sled up and down our street and driveway.

Later on, when my lil man was down for a nap, my daughter desperately wanted to go back out and make a snow man.  I wanted to do that like I wanted a hole in the head, and tried to bribe her to stay inside....she would not relent.  So out we went and I am SOOO GLAD!!!

We had some engineering 'issues' and debated our materials, and also decided it was a snowGIRL, since accoridng to her "we're girls, we're making a snow GIRL!"

It was the best best time...I am SO GLAD she pressed me into doing it (sometimes CHILDREN know best!), and we enjoyed ourselves immensely!!!  Here are the end results of our snowGIRL.

A Work In Progress

How did you do it?

Excellent Snow Girl! How did you manage to make such a great looking Snow Girl with powdery snow?

Clay hardens by immobility – men's minds by standing pat. Both lose the power to take new impressions. (Pinchot 1910: 138)

engineering feat/debacle!

It was really hard, but GIRLPOWER came thru, hahaha!! Eve kept pressing me on, so i finally just sculpted out a body and we rolled a big ball on my chest for the head.  Food coloring for eyes and mouth, an old wine cork for the nose, and dried up old hydrangeas from my garden for the hair!!

Trust me, the mother of invention is NOT necessity---it's mommy guilt!!!!!

snowgirl

wish i could've been there for the snow constructing phase, but i was having too much fun suppling all of the wee ones in the neighborhood with plenty O'extra snow for snowpeople, snowballs, igloos and forts!

entertainment

oh you provided plenty of entertainment for my 2 kidlets...they were standing on windowsills, screaming "DERE IS CORY! DAT CRAZY CORY!"  they LOVED watching you blow snow!!!  that bought me 15minutes of peace!!
