HERE'S SOMETHING YOU DON'T SEE EVERYDAY
February 26, 2007 - 7:29am — Corys_Stories
I was recently watching a bunch of videos at YOUTUBE.COM and saw a old Lucky Stripes commercial from way back. I know it's old, not only because it's in black and white, but I don't think I've every seen, in my life, a cigarette commercial on TV. When did they stop making them? Late 60's? You still see cig ads on billboards and in magazines today. This commercial, is funny to me. A pack of Lucky Stripes Square Dancing. How absurd. Now, I know some folks in our dancing activity would probably be offended by it, but I think it's kinda neat. There's something you don't see everyday. Enjoy the link.

Cigarette ads on TV
I'm not sure when the ads were pulled from TV, but how I wish they would bring them back! Every time we watch a program peppered with ads for medicines (which, ironically, never used to be advertised), I wish for the old days when whiskey and cigarette ads were standard. I'd much rather watch someone drinking and smoking that someone sitting in a doctor's examination room hearing about the disease of the week. BTW, I noticed that the caller used the Lucky Strike tag line: LSMFT - Lucky Strike Means Fine Tobacco. Anne H.
That is What that Means
Thanks I was wondering what the LSMFT meant. Kind of reminds me of the Christmas commercials, you know the Here Comes Suzy Snowflake!
Clay hardens by immobility – men's minds by standing pat. Both lose the power to take new impressions. (Pinchot 1910: 138)
Suzy Snowflake!
I loved that little TV clip of Suzy Snowflake! Every once in awhile it is still run randomly at Christmastime. Anne H.
