Fishy

If you are looking for an excuse to delay cutting the grass, you could do some walleye fishing instead.  Lake Erie walleye fishing is at its summer peak; and fishing tournaments recently held, prove that point.

Some Erie anglers make catching fish look easy. The winning team, during one tournament, weighed nearly 55 pounds of walleye.  They were limited to only nine fish for the weigh-in, so they released the other fish that they caught.

Lake Erie is a special fishing location that draws thousands of visitors each summer. You need a boat, or you need to hire a charter captain to take you fishing.  Either way, with a little skill and persistence, you can bring home a dandy supply of fresh fish fillets.  If you need overnight lodging, I recommend The Green Roof Inn.

Plan your trip to match the best time to catch your favorite fish. Summer is best for walleye and yellow perch. Perch fillets sell in fish markets for about $11 a pound.  If you catch the 30 perch limit, your fishing investment is worthwhile.  For perch fishing , contact Captain Rick.

Steelhead trout are best caught in the fall and winter, while smallmouth and largemouth bass action is really successful in May and early June. By the way, there is no closed season for steelhead, but bass season is closed from mid-March until the second Saturday in June; so you must catch and release all bass during that time period.
