AL ROKER gets educated
Finally, some closure. For years now, people and Curve fans have been asking about the Al Roker and Steamer battle.
Not a battle at all. Al made Steamer a national celebrity.
The news footage you will see below was from Groundhog's day 2001, and Al is 'anti furry things anyways' and will not go to Punxy Pa, so they sent a bunch of Penna mascots up to NBC that cold Feb 2nd morn. We had just received a new Steamer suit and they sent just the costume up to NYC, and some intern put it on. Al had no idea or info on or about Steamer. Conan and Leno and I do believe Letterman all did some kind of follow up wisecrack, which made the big green guy even more popular.
Okay, having said that, the apology (ha ha) was a lot of fun to do. Contrary to popular belief, it is not me in the costume there either. I actually was out of town that day as well. Enjoy the video....thanks to Charlton Jordan for digging it up.

GM ego maniac
I've been to only several curve games over the past few years, and each time I go, the gm is always on the scoreboard, always doing a contest game on the field, and has his name on everything. what's his deal? who does he think he is? someone told me, this guy even has a bobblehead doll and a sandwich named after him. is this true? i also heard he didn't have the guts to jump out of a plane after he made such a big stink about it. just curious, John D. ps is he difficult to work for?
interesting character
Our GM, Parney, takes a lot of pride in the team. He is always there, and is a work-aholic. The guy is a lot of fun and likes to really be involved with the team, fans and the community. He is not afraid to stick his neck out for the team to get publicity. He's done some comical stunts in the past that have gotten a lot of national exposure for the team. Speaking for myself, he is fairly easy to get along with. He constantly 'pushes' his staff to succeed.
Where is diesel dawg
Always the Steamer and never the Dawg.. Diesel has the bite.. While Steamer has the weight of the Media..
Wow.. what a Pair.
BDD
All of this happened BDD (Before Diesel Dawg). Steamer loves Diesel Dawg, Frank the Hot Dog and Bob the Dog....( if you ask me the whole place is going to the dogs ). With all the other mascots there, we can split up and cover a lot more territory that way. Today is our first school kids' day. Supposed to be 2 dozen school buses. No problemo, that means the next one will be double or perhaps triple in numbers. All of the mascot 'dogs' will be on leashes today.
That's great!
I've always wondered about the E TRue Hollywood story on STeamer and Roker. BTW, Curve doing a great job giving back to the fans and community this season with all the specials they are running. Thanks to that too. Going to Dollar Night with my family, on Tuesday. Go Curve.

It's all good
Yes, and did you see the big steamer sitting on top of the front entrance coming into the ballpark? Lots of comments on that. It's hysterical. It reminds you of Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Yes, for the 10th anniversary, the Curve really have come up with some dandy promos. I think it's wonderful that they are taking care of their fans, especially their younger ones. I will let them know, and thanks for responding.
