Yanks vs. Mets

I am a confused person.  I've always liked the New York Yankees.  But ever since I became friends with some of our Curve players that went onto playing for Boston, I also started cheering for the Red Sox. And, then they win the pennant.  Did I break the Curse of the Bambino? Certainly not.  It was Jimmy Buffett who broke the curse.  If anyone knows baseball, it's either one or the other.  You can't like both teams and be normal.  I have never been a Mets fan.  One of my favorite lines in baseball is MUCK THE FETS!  But since I became a fan of the sitcom THE KING OF QUEENS, I've become more sympathetic for the Mets. But, next year, there will be 2 brand new stadiums in the Bronx and in Queens.  What do you think about that?

"The house that Ruth built" is moving down the road, and Shea Stadium will be getting a new name and house too.  I want to see both teams play in their stadiums one final time, but I think I am only going to make the yanks vs. mets, in mid-May.  It's actually at Yankee Stadium, and that's the field I want to see more.  I can't believe I've never been in either stadium.  I understand Billy Joel is playing a concert in Shea stadium this summer.  Hmmmm, perhaps I could get there after all.  I really became interested in Yankee Stadium, for some odd reason, since Billy Crystal's movie 61, which came out about 8 years ago.

Have you ever been to either of these two historical stadiums?  Do you have a story about it?  My dad tells a horror story of when he took my little brother and his friend to a Mets game a long time ago, and now looks back and laughs at it.  Murphy's Law set in on that Chevy Chase of a vacation.  There is so much history in Yankee Stadium, and a buddy tells me that it's crumbling so much that I can actually get a piece of the rock while I'm up there.  I look forward to a rumble in the Bronx when the Yanks beat the Mets.

Of course, I will want to go back up next season to check out the new stadiums in their inaugural year.  I'm hoping to take the train to NYC.  Have you ever done that?  It's a blast.
