The Library

I LOVE to read. I like mystery books, horse books basically every book! My favorite thing is to sit in the library, with no particular book in mind and read. Our library the Richland County Library has a corner of the Saddle Club books. They have a TV show, too. My library has a Poem Contest every year. I'm in the 4th grade and my mom says I was tested 1 year ago and I had a 9-10th grade reading level.

I got a new puppy as soon as I get a pic of him I'll put it on here. His name is Buddy.

I love reading

I remember when I was a little boy and I was in the fifth grade at Allegheny #2. We use to order books out of a catalog. I would take the order form home and sit over it and find something that I wanted to order. Mom and Dad would allow me a couple of dollars to order something. I would take my order form and give it to my teacher Mr. Brumbaugh.

Then when the day would arrive for the delivery of our books. The smell of new books filled our class room. I love that smell of paper and ink. I would get my books wrapped with my order form and secured together with a rubberband. I mostly read autobiographies of presidents and folks like Daniel Boone. I, like you, loved to read, and I am so grateful to continue to enjoy reading. Right now I am reading about a shipwreck survivor who invented the first lifeboat, Lionel Lukin. Lionel lost his wife and son in a tragic shipwreck and vowing to never allow this to happen again he invented the Lifeboat.

Congrats on your love of the library and we look forward to a picture of that new dog!

Me Too!!!!!

I like reading President's autobiographies, too. My favorite president is Ronald Reagan. I've read Daniel Boone's autobiographie. He's interesting.

I like the Scholastic book orders. In OK we got them from school every month. But now that I'm homeshooled here in OH, we get them from the Homeshool Group at our YMCA.

We named our dog Buddy.

I Luv U.

nothing so valuable...

...as a library card.  It's your passport to the world!

You're a clever one to use it so wisely...I got my daughter hers when she was 3 (she's 5&half now) and she loves to go to ours too.  They always just have the best chairs to snuggle in to as well!

Have you tried the Cherry Ames series?  they're older, but very good.  As are the Boxcar Children, and my personal fave, Nancy Drew.  I loved all of the above.  Oh, and since you're in 4th grade, you may want to find Tales of a 4th grade nothing and Fudge.  Or anything by Laura Ingalls Wilder.....I devoured everything she wrote.

Let me/us know what you are reading!!!  Do you have any suggestions for my daughter, she starts kindergarten in the fall?  We've started Anne of Green Gables...a chapter every few days.  ANy other ideas?

100%!!!

You are right! I love my library card. I haven't heard of the Cherry Ames series. But I've read EVERY Boxcar Childen. I'm working on the Nancy Drew series. Haven't tried Fudge. I have the boxed set of Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Does your daughter like animals? If she does I recommend The Animal Ark series. They aren't very long but they're good. About 15 chapters long. My favorite is Dolphin in the Deep. I've read it 3 times! She publishes like 3 a year.
