My Buns

When I had my first "batch" of Dwarf Hotot bunnies I thought "This is going to be a long wait till I'm able to do anything with them."  Wellll, they are in they're own cage & ready to sell! Ha! (I'm only selling 2!) Out of 4. Well I have 8. 4 adults & 4 babies. All their names are: Marie, Tonya, Whitecote, Snowflake, Vanilla, Marshmellow( Miss Marsha!), Thumper, and Cloud Puff. Now, you might think that because this is a short haired breed, and they don't need grooming, that they would be the easiest breed to do. But get that out of your mind! Now, a pet, yes that would be easy, just food, hay and water everyday. And lots of love. But breeding is hard. You have to keep them little, but not to little. And you have to get the ears small, and the eyebands thick. The body just right and the head just right. But don't get me wrong they're fun!!!!!

More on the way?

Are you planning to do more breeding? How many rabbits do you think you can raise at one time?

Posed Down

I was reading about Hotot Bunnies at another website. They said the bunnies needed to be "posed down" during shows. What does that mean?

Clay hardens by immobility – men's minds by standing pat. Both lose the power to take new impressions. (Pinchot 1910: 138)

Comercial Type

Well Uncle Erin, The phrase "posed down" means well, Let's start here. The Dwarf Hotot rabbit is posed bunched. But the part posed down means: there head is to be posed with they're neck to the table. Acualally the width of two fingers together above the table. If you can tell me which website you went on to, I can probibly get you a better exclaimation. By the way this pose is called "Commercial Type".
