We headed east across the Blue Ridge today to shop in Charlottesville.

This sure beats the snowflakes on the windshield that PaulaZ was describing!  Yes Paula, John Boy definitely had it right when he waxed eloquent about this country.  We enjoyed the drive and will try for more of this scenery in a couple days but today we were shopping in Charlottesville.  Judy wanted to go to the Needle Shop(this comes as no surprise to those who know her) and I went along to check out the wineries that Jess suggested.  Charlottesville has a pedestrian Mall on Main Street that is a delightful shopping and sightseeing opportunity replete with quaint shops, strolling window shoppers and street musicians.  Home to the University of Virginia, Charlottesville provides a diverse customer base for such a mall and if today was an example, they take full advantage of the opportunity.  Judy bought a sweater kit to knit while I browsed an artisans cooperative.  We lunched in a pleasant basement restaurant called Henry's where we had a generous, hot ham and cheese with southern cooked green beans and potato salad with iced tea, YUM!  From there we headed up Veterans Memorial Highway to the Best Buy where we purchased a couple DVDs and a card reader so we could insert these pictures.  From there we headed out northwest of town to Oakencroft Winery where we sampled several of their products and purchased a few as well.  From there it was back to Staunton and the campground for supper and reading.  Is this a great country or what?  Tomorrow we are checking out the Frontier Culture Center.  For now we leave you with a couple campground photos for your enjoyment. Our rigView north of the campsite

Looks Good and Sounds Good

I particulary like the sounds of the lunch menu at Henry's.

I put some links of the places Randy addressed in his Story. Sounds like a fun place to visit. Thanks for the information.

Henry's Restaurant- Looks like they do not have a website but instead have a listing on this page.
